Shipping cash registers is not as difficult as one might imagine. If you would like to ship a cash register to us (or anyone else), and the cash register is small enough, it can generally be double boxed (packed in one box and set into a larger box with a layer of packing material between the two boxes). Once the machine is packaged and if it weighs less than 150 pounds, it can be shipped via FedEx Ground. If you are shipping the machine to us, The HBAC Group prefers FedEx Ground over UPS. However, because neither FedEx nor UPS insures antiques, we use an internet insurance service at www.u-pic.com. Their service is very reasonable. It doesn’t cost any more than if you had insured it through FedEx. If the machine weighs over 150 pounds, the cost isn’t very high either. We have accounts with a couple of different freight companies, and we can pass on our savings to our customers. Please call us for details if you are interested in shipping a heavier register to us.
